Megalodon Sharks Teeth & Fossil Adventure

General Information

Thank you for choosing Seas the Day Charleston. It is our goal to provide you with an amazing experience!
Please carefully read all the information below. This information is for your convenience and ease when making your reservation.

Our basic walking shark tooth hunting excursions are UNGUIDED HUNTS. You will be using your own skill set to find teeth and fossils. Your captain and First Mate Heather will give you as many pointers as possible and put you in the right place at the right time. We always have someone on the beach with you to help with general questions and/or guidance free of charge.

GUIDED HUNTS are HIGHLY recommended for those with limited to no hunting experience. With a GUIDED HUNT, you will have one of our knowledgeable fossil hunters right by your side, helping you identify your finds while teaching you about fossils and sharks’ teeth. GUIDED HUNTS are an additional flat rate of $300 per group to be paid to your Guide via cash the day of your Charter.

Our charters require mobility, agility, and ability to walk 3 to 4 miles in a four hour period, as well as boarding and departing the boat on a small step ladder. Please be sure all participants meet these criteria.

DAY OF CHARTER DIRECTIONS:

• Check your phone if there is dangerous weather in the area. Once a charter is booked, we go rain or shine. The only thing that will cause cancellation is active thunderstorms at the time of departure. If there are active thunderstorms at the time of embarkation, we do one of two things:
1. We pull up the radar and try to see if the thunderstorms will work their way through and then proceed to the hunting grounds;
2. OR we completely cancel the Charter for that day; in this case you will be given the choice to reschedule or to receive a refund. We will contact you via the phone number you provided if the charter is cancelled.

• Departure Location and Parking: Tolers Cove Marina, 1610 Ben Sawyer Blvd, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464

As soon as you turn onto Marsh Harbor Road park immediately in the parking lot on your right hand side.  You will meet first mate Heather at this location to be escorted to the boat.

• ARRIVAL: Please be 15 minutes early for your charter. The time of your reservation is the time the boat departs and returns. The boat leaves promptly at these times.

• Remember if you choose GUIDED HUNT, you will pay the additional $300 at the time of the charter.

• Clothing: We encourage everyone to watch the weather projections for the date of your excursion. We highly recommend you dress weather appropriately for these conditions.

If you are concerned about getting wet during the boat ride, which is a high probability. Please make sure that you bring rain gear with you.
Winter footwear recommendations: muck boots or rain boots.
Warm and summer months footwear recommendations: any type of water shoe; tennis shoes are NOT recommended!

Gear: If you book for an early morning, pre-sunrise Hunt make sure to bring a flashlight or headlamp.

Extras: it is very important to stay hydrated. Recommend everybody bring plenty of fluids to drink, and snacks, if required. 

There are no bathrooms on the island, so bring any toiletries needed and anything else you require for being on the island for four hours.

We have restroom facilities at Marina. These will be available directly before Charter and after as well as a small convenience store for purchase of any last-minute items possibly forgotten. i.e. water and snacks. Hours of operation for fuel dock shop: 8 AM until 6 PM.

Choose either GUIDED HUNT or UNGUIDED HUNT based on the description above.

We only accept Venmo. Payment is due in full $120 per person at time reservation is made. Click here for the payment link or click the button above.

When making Venmo payment, in the note section please provide the date of the reservation, CELL phone number and if you want GUIDED HUNT or UNGUIDED HUNT.

When your final reservation is sent to you via text, please review the departure time, number of participants and whether the phone number we have is correct. Also indicate that you have read and understood all the instructions and directions.
Example: I confirm that I have read all the instructions and accept this reservation for designated date and time.

By submitting your reservation, you hereby agree that you will not hold Seas the Day Charleston liable for any accidents or incidents, while not on boat. You also acknowledge & take full responsibility for yourself and actions, while on any of our charters or excursions.
